We Need More Fund to Build A New Orphanage Building

One of the most immediate and necessary needs is to build a new orphanage building that will accomodate for the needs of more orphans, ex-streetkids, and abandoned children. The new building will be able to house more than 50 orphans, ex-street kid, and abandoned children with a safe home that provides nutritional food, quality education, and a sense of family. It will not be used only as an orphanage, but also for any other activities of Remaja Masa Depan Faoundation such as: a free of charge school, a free of tutorial, music studio, computer training, and library.

It is on three floors. The first floor is 275 meters, the second floor is 275 meters, and the third floor is 150 meters. Totaly, it will take an area of approximately 700 square meters.The ground floor will house the living quarters for the children and wardens as well as kitchen, bedrooms, dinning halls, bathrooms, playground, and parking area. The upstairs (multy purpose) will be used for bedrooms, classrooms, study, music studio, and computer. Warehouse and drying rack will also be facilitated on the third floor.

The total estimated cost to build this building is 520,0000 USD in which 70% of the total budget will be spent to purchase a 300-meter piece of land in Tebet Regency, South Jakarta and the rest will be used to construct the building. The location has to be in Tebet Regency because most of our individual donors live in Tebet Regency and the name of our orphanage is also Tebet. This is not a sudden plan. We have been planning this project and saving money since 2007.  However, our savings (endowment fund) is only 167,500 USD.  Even to purchase a 300-meter piece of land, our savings is not enough.  We realize that our project sounds like a dream, but we hope someday our dream will come true. If there is a will there is a way.

There are five reasons  why we need a new orphanage building (1)At the moment children staying in three separate buildings, one is for those under 11 years old, the others are for gilrs and boys aged 11 to 18. Because the distance between these buildings are 75 to 100 meters, it is hard to control children (2)One out of three building is a rental house. (3)Not spacious enough to accomodate  up to 50 children. Even we dont have playing ground and special room to take care of those who are sick (4) Dirty and a lack of sunlight which is not good for health (5)These three building stand on the state/public land. Once the government needs this land, the government will demolish our orphanage.
